NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO GENERATE ELECTRICITY

In terms of Section 11 of the Electricity Regulation Act, 2006 (Act No. 4 of 2006); Haru Energy Facility (RF) (Pty) Ltd hereby notifies all residents in proximity to Farm Wonderkop 15 located adjacent to the R730 in the Riebeeckstad area, as well as the broader Welkom community located in the Matjhabeng Local Municipality in the Free State Province that a licence application has been lodged with the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) to operate a 123MW / 492MWh generation plant from Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Subject to the approval by NERSA, this facility will be established on the Remaining Extent of Farm Wonderkop 15 in Welkom, Free State. The electricity generated will be sold to NTCSA SOC Ltd under the Government’s Independent Power Producer Programme. The application is also posted on theApplicant’s Website www.subsolar.co.za/projects/haru-bess as well as on NERSA website, www.nersa.org.za, under Consultation Papers and Public hearings. All interested parties and/or any member of the public may lodge written objections with NERSA, within 30 days from the date of this publication. Such objections must be in a form of an affidavit and must be directed to NERSA through any of the addresses below:
